I Love Christmas!

So, not to brag because I have to give Martha Stewart some credit, but I am pretty sure I made the best Christmas cookies ever this past week! They were amazing without the icing and got even more yummy once decorated. But did it take forever! I don't recommend doing cookies like these unless you have tons of time on your hands or are like me and you don't so you make time by staying up till 11 or 12 or 1 in the morning 3 nights in a row.
Shane had me make gift baskets for all of his employees that had 6 sugar cookies, 12 chocolate chip cookies, a loaf of cranberry banana bread (all of which were home made), almond roca, candy canes and a bottle of martinellis. Fun but stressful.
Last night we went to Oceanside for Tuesday's (my niece) birthday. For .2 seconds Liv wanted to dress up in the tea party clothes. But not a fraction of a second longer.

Thanksgiving Weekend

It was really nice to have Shane home so many days in a row. Olivia got used to having her daddy around that she is now asking for daddy all throughout the day rather that just in the evenings. We had a really Nice Thanksgiving even though I was up until 2:00 a.m. baking pies. Not a good idea when you are in your seventh month of pregnancy.
Shane played soccer in the rain with some people in our ward while I finished up the pies and then we headed up to my moms where the dinner was wonderful and then we headed down to the States home for the Hoy/States dinner.
Shane Finished putting up the lights around the house and i think that my inside Christmas decorations are almost all up. I'll be sure to take some pictures and post them soon.
This is kind of a dull blog, it's probably because I am tired. Better luck next time!

Hello Again!

So Its been six months since I last updated this darn thing and I will be quick with it.
The morning of Fathers Day Shane was told he was gonna be a daddy! (again)
From the next morning until mid-september I was miserably sick!
Our landlords sold the house they were living in and decided that they wanted to live where we were so we broke our lease early and moved a mile away. I was really sick and it was ridiculously hot (August). We now live in a nice house that is big so it's too expensive to furnish or decorate, so every so often when I let that get to me I am in my own personal hell.
We have found out theat the next addition to our little family will be little girl #2.
We are pretty happy about that.
so here is my update in a nut shell. I got pregnant, I got sick, Livi turned 1, we moved, it was hot!, and here we are!

The day we found out that cheese was one of Olivias favorite foods.
Olivia and Emma really excited about the 4th of July.

. . .and not so excited

Olivias Huge birthday cake that took me two days to make!

Livi loved opening her gifts.

At Bates Nut Farm getting a pumkin.
( not a pumkin under my shirt)

Olivia is getting shy.

My mom had a big Gypsy themed birthday party.
I raided her everyday wardrobe for my costume.

And we end with my little gypsy family.

Shane's Day

I really felt jipped on mothers day. I had 10 min. with Shane and Liv in the morning with some lively fruit tarts and flowers and then the rest of the day was run, run, run, stress, stress, stress. Sundays were the most stressful day on the mission and now they seem to be the most stressful day of family life too. Especially holidays and birthday celebrations. between church, my family and Shane's; Sundays are hectic. This past Sunday was not too different but Shane can always make the day good.
I Am so lucky to have this guy. He is pretty calm and collected all of the time and is never in much of a hurry if he doesn't have to be at work. He is always willing to lend a hand with Liv if I've gotta spend some time doing other stuff and he is such a good dad. I hope he had a good fathers day because he made my fathers day great knowing that my little girl and any children that follow have a wonderful daddy.

BEACH DAY!!!

So. . . five days later. I tried to post this blog on Saturday but Shane had changed some of the settings on our computer so when I posted this it ended up on the pest control blog. AHH frustration! Any way I couldn't figure out how to save it and put in on the family blog so it was lost . How ever, I have overcome my depression concerning the thing
any you get to see beach day!
Olivia and i went to the beach this last Friday with Erin and Ryan and Collete, Seth, and Brandon. We had a good time and I am proud to say that the only baby girl there was Livi and she was the only not to get scared of the water.
Let's see what fun Liv had.
" Hmm. . .what's this? Pretty color, handle. . . It's a Popsicle
MMMM!!! I love popsi. . .

wait. . . that's not a popsicle.

MOMMY!!!!!"

She was a little disappointed that it didn't turn out to be a popsicle but she got over it.
We cleaned her up and since silly me forgot to bring a shirt for the poor girl we had to put her in one of cousin Ryan's and she ended looking like one of the boys hanging out
with their mom's at the beach.

Till next time , The Hoys.

So... did you know that every time I go to write a new blog I start with "So" and then erase it? Silly eh? Shane is out with our elders right now at a teaching appt. and I was at a loss for something to do having just put Livi down and absolutely no desire to do any house work and every cell of my body screaming out for ice cream and cookies. So here am I. . . blogging. About what though? How about this Obama character. Can't stand the man. I don't much care for Hillary either but at least McCain had a chance of beating her. Honestly, I really don't like him either. What's an American to do? I am a little nervous for what the future hold for my little family with the world and our country in such an awful state. My daughter has to grow up in a world where the majority of the people she'll come in contact with will tell her that homosexuality is a perfectly natural thing. In fact they will tell her that she is a bigot for thinking otherwise. She will be thought more of a prude than you or I when we were young for turning down drugs or waiting until marriage to have a sexual relationship. Condoms will be passed around elementary school classrooms and boys will be in the girls bathroom because they "feel" that they should be girls and should not be discriminated against because they look different than what they are "inside". The temptation for everything evil is getting stronger and the worlds is encouraging it like never before. And a crazy-A leftist liberal is, in this girls opinion, the beginning of the end my friends. In the last few years Barry Obama has polished and cleaned up his act as much as possible to capture the hearts of the people of this country. He is an amazing speech giver and has moved and excited millions, but I guarantee that he will let them down and we will be none the better but worse off at the end of his would be presidency. Next blog topic... Al Gore; the cause of the worlds starvation.

EMMA'S TWO!

Emma's two and boy does she love her veggies! Actually she just likes the ranch on top and when she is done with it she puts in back on the tray for someone else to enjoy it. Sweet huh? She had her birthday party yesterday at a park by her Tauntie Amanda's house in Cardiff. It was pretty fun, I just wish Olivia was big enough to be able to play with all of the big kids at parties.

TAG! I love blog tag :)
How to play this game of tag.

Post these rules on your blog.

List 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 random surprising facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names.

3 Joys... 1.Being a wife and a mom. It's all I've ever wanted. 2.Getting time off as a mom and a wife. It's all i ever want. 3. Seeing Shane and Olivia after having time off. I did miss them after all.

3Fears...1.I am so afraid of being home by myself at night. 2. i am afraid of Livi making really bad choices when she is older. 3. Sometimes I am afraid of Shane. Just kidding.

3 Goals... I want to be more organized cuz i stink at it! 2. I'm not a big spender but i need to stick to the budget more if I'm ever gonna get a house of my own. 3. I am going to be a master cake decorator.

3 current obsessions/collections... 1. I too, like Erin, am obsessed with "So You Think You Can Dance". 2. I have just recently become obsessed with my wrinkles. I'm only 25! Why do I even have wrinkles! 3. and i have been collecting cake decorating stuff like crazy! My poor little family gets totally neglected when I'm in the "cake zone" (that was totally dumb).

3 random surprising facts about yourself... 1. I dance around my house when no one else is home. 2 If i could eat an In N Out hamburger for lunch every day. I would. 3. I wish that i had 5 friends to tag.

Woo Hoo!!!

Yay for G.N.O. That's for you Erin. So I'm pretty stink'in excited to go make a complete fool of myself as I attempt to rock climb. Some girls night out huh? My left arm is "Wonder Woman" strong from hauling Liv around all the time, but I know that my right arm is gonna let me down. All well, at least I have dinner after to look forward to. Thank you Woodland Park girls for including a friendless me to play with you. So good luck to me, Erin Hoy, Christy Lalanne, and Collette Guerrero who, rumor has it, may not be climbing anything. For anyone who hasn't seen, this is my brother Stevens new baby Rainn.

A Whole Apple!

I forgot to put the daily picture of my little Liv-e-bug in the last blog so here you go!

Lost Cake

Okay! Two years later! Sorry Erin. You ask your self "why apologise to just me Melinda?". Simple. You are the only one who reads this Erin. And that's your right, you created the dang thing. It is Thursday morning and i have just lost 2 1/2 days of my life to a cake. and have nothing to show for it. I am taking cake decorating classes and have been working on the most detailed cake yet and when i brought it home last night. . . you'll never guess. The camera battery was dead and the charger was and is nowhere to be found.( told you you'd never guess.) So what else was there to do than cut into it and eat it out of depression. i did take a picture with my camera so there is a blurry record of the thing. On to happier things. Olivia is so cute! And maybe you think to yourself "Melinda, you're just biased. She's your daughter.". And I say, you are wrong! Well, not about the daughter part, that's right, but about the cute part. She is the CUTEST! She is so happy and fun and silly and she takes her naps and goes to bed without a fight. She doesn't like her green veggies but what little kid does? (If yours does, don't tell me). she has got four little gopher teeth, her is hair is curly in the back and chances are pretty good that if she is awake, she is smiling.
'till next time. Melinda Hoy

SO I GUESS I AM OFFICIALLY A BLOGGER. HELLO TO ALL. I AM STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW THIS WHOLE THING WORKS. I JUST FIGURED OUT FACE BOOK AFTER SIX MONTHS OF USING IT. I'M NOT INCREDIBLY COMPUTER SAVVY.

SHANE AND I ARE IN A CUTE LITTLE HOUSE IN VISTA THAT WAS BUILT IN 1954. THE FLOOR SQUEAKS, THE PIPES ARE OLD AND THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONER BUT SOMEHOW I STILL LOVE IT. ITS ON 1/2 AN ACRE WITH A SMALL VEGETABLE GARDEN, MATURE TREES, A PLAY SET AND TWO GOOD SIZED LAWNS. THE YARD WAS THE DETERMINING FACTOR.

OLIVIA IS ALMOST ONE. JUST ABOUT A MONTH AND A HALF TIL I CAN TURN THAT DUMB CAR SEAT AROUND. I THINK WE'RE GONNA HAVE A PARTY HERE SO IF ANYONE OUT THERE WANTS TO BE INVITED LET ME KNOW AND CHANCES ARE GOOD THAT YOU WILL BE.

SORRY ABOUT THE SHORTNESS AND AWKWARDNESS OF THIS FIRST POST. HOPE FULLY THINGS AROUND HERE WILL GET MORE EXCITING.
